3.6.1: Your Connection to Nature

Spending time in nature helps us reconnect with something larger than ourselves. The sights, sounds and rhythms of the natural world can offer a sense of calm, perspective and belonging—especially in moments of stress or disconnection.

Take some time to reflect on how you find connection in nature.

What in nature helps you feel connected - to yourself, to others, to nature itself?

In your journal, make a list of these things.

What are the shapes, sounds and smells of these? Represent them using colours, symbols or textures – however it makes sense for you. If where you live currently has accessible natural areas or parks, take some time to visit them as you reflect on this. Bring back leaves, stones, mud – whatever you can and feel this connection through. Use these to help you represent them in your journal.
